Community Planting Day In Uvita, 17th Of June, 2011
Together with the community of Uvita, both Ticos and Gringos, we planted trees on the side of the river in Uvita. It was a great way of integrating the foreigners with the locals and having them join forces to take care of their home town. The kids from escuela verde had good fun and learned about erosion and how to control it. With PLANTING TREES!!!
This whole community planting day was part of a much larger initiative from the UICN, called Pacto por la Vida. As 2011 is the year of the Forest they set out to plant 5 million trees in the whole of central america during the month of june. CCT was able to plant about 2000 trees in this wanderfull project: Pacto por la Vida!
